The following are short bios on our executive board:


 
  Dave Lindsey
Dave Lindsey is the Founder and Chairman of DEFENDERS, the largest residential security dealer in the nation and ADT's only Authorized Premier Provider. Dave started the business out of a spare bedroom in his home in 1998. 18 years later, DEFENDERS has revenue nearing $500 million, 1,900 employees in 48 states, 154 branch offices, and has been on the Inc 500 Magazine list five times. Since 1998, Dave has invested his time and given more than $70 million to various charities. He has also created the opportunity for his employees to build almost 300 homes for the poorest of the poor in Mexico and the Dominican Republic through YWAM’s Homes of Hope program. Dave and his wife Jessica have three children; David, Maggie & Jackie Ray. Dave is very involved in the community through his participation with Big Brothers Big Sisters, YPO Christian Fellowship Network, Youth With A Mission and many other nonprofits.
 
  Ed Morgan
Ed Morgan is the first President and CEO of The Bowery Mission Foundation. He served as president and CEO of The Bowery Mission for more than 20 years, leading the 137-year-old organization to a renaissance in reputation, program effectiveness and income. Under Ed’s leadership, the Mission and its parent organization, Christian Herald Association, reorganized, focusing on an outcomes-based purpose statement, and built five of the City’s most effective homelessness recovery programs -- including one that partners with the City of New York, and two that are Manhattan’s only faith-based residential recovery programs for women. The organization doubled its income in one decade; cultivated civic leaders, influencers and friends nationwide; raised its visibility; and established high profile events such as the Valentine Gala that raises a million dollars annually. Prior to joining The Bowery Mission, Ed had a 20-year career with General Electric, where he was in charge of communications for several of GE’s top officers, won several management awards and founded an award winning customer magazine. Ed has also served on the Boards of The Association of Gospel Rescue Mission (Vice Chair), The Geneva School of Manhattan, The Family Institute of Connecticut, and Christian Leadership Alliance. Ed currently serves as Program Director for CEO Dialogues, a multi-city seminar helping non-profit CEOs toward best practices leadership. He is a regular speaker at the New York City Leadership Center. Ed holds degrees from Rutgers University and the University of Illinois (MS, Mass Communications), and served as a US Air Force officer during the Vietnam War. He and his wife Judy have three grown sons and seven grandchildren, and live in Manhattan.
 
  Laura Pflug
Laura Pflug is a celebrator of creativity and generosity on the executive board of NCF/NY. Laura is an abstract painter and firm believer in the truth that all humans are born with creative gifts. She enjoys using her specific style of creating to bring happiness to people’s lives. Her painting has evolved from a skill and a passion to her ministry. Laura enjoys serving on ministry boards with her husband Mark, now that their two children are of college age and live elsewhere. She has a heart and voice for generosity, and experiences true joy witnessing people finding their identity as sons and daughters of Jesus Christ. Her authentic and creative journey has put her on the national stage for the generosity movement, as well as in fellowship in her local community. She frequently leads women’s retreats at a thriving ministry center in Fairfield County, CT, where she finds great joy in watching people set free and filled up with the enormous love God has for them. Laura is excited to see the family of God coming together in NYC to spread the gospel through generosity.
 
  Mark Pflug
Mark Pflug is married to an extraordinary woman, Laura (also a NCY NY board member), and is the proud father of two great kids, Chloe and Jack. He and Laura attend Black Rock Congregational Church in Fairfield, CT. His passion is seeing the Kingdom expanded through the redemptive power of God’s love and mercy, and to see God’s people awakened to a “life that is truly life” through generosity and an ever-increasing surrender to the Lord’s call. Professionally, Mark is a partner at International law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where he practices in the area of mergers & acquisitions, with a particular emphasis on private equity and cross-border transactions. His private equity clients have many of the world’s leading sponsors, including Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., Blackstone, Lexington Partners, Charterhouse, Silver Lake, Apax, Snow Phipps and Palladium Equity Partners, and his corporate clients have included Alibaba, the Royal Bank of Scotland, Toshiba and many of the portfolio companies of his private equity clients. Now based in New York, Mark has practiced as a registered foreign lawyer in his firm’s Hong Kong office and he also worked for eight years in its London office.
 
  Jeff Smith
For almost 20 years, Jeff Smith has led Brunswick Analytics, a financial analysis and business intelligence firm. Additionally, he helped establish the May Flower Group, a wholesale distribution network with outlets across China. He graduated cum laude from Western Michigan University with a degree in International and Comparative Political Science, with minors in Economics, Philosophy, and Spanish. Also, he founded the Catholic Finance Association, a fellowship of Catholic finance professionals, as well as the annual Cardinal’s Pinstripe Mass for Business Professionals. Previously, he founded the position of Young Professional Outreach Coordinator with the New York Archdiocese and served as Director of the Colebrook Society, an international gathering of young Catholic leaders. He also currently serves on the board of Storm Theater and is President Emeritus of Legatus New York City, a Catholic CEO organization, after receiving the honor of being named National Chapter President of the Year. ”

 

  Janice Worth
Janice C. Worth is President of Anushka, Inc., and has had numerous entrepreneurial endeavors including international retailing and mass marketing on QVC. In 2004, she sold her companies to Advanced Aesthetics Inc. and served as Senior Vice President and Director of Aesthetic Market Expansion. Today, her spa business includes a facility in Palm Beach, Fla., and a consulting business, which runs country club spas. She is on the advisory board of New York City RUF Ministry and she assists numerous local children’s charities in Palm Beach, Fla. She has a college-age son. And her purpose statement is “expanding territory.”
