Meet our local team

The following are short bios on our leadership team:

Jeff Smith – President
Jeff is a purpose-driven marketer with over 17 years’ experience dedicated to improving brands (non-profit, corporate, and celebrity) through social impact. He is credited with building innovative marketing strategies and campaigns for top brands (Chevy, Wrangler, AT&T, Red Bull & more) and leading non-profits (Malaria No More, Water for People, Action Against Hunger, Exhibit Darfur). Jeff has spent the last 8 years directing business into the pro-social space, merging profit, purpose, and pop-culture. Notably, he led award-winning movements - Ashton Kutcher/Twitter nets race, American Idol Gives Back, and Comedy Fights Malaria. Currently Jeff is helping to launch the NE affiliate of NCF, as the founding President of NCF/New York.

Gretchen Richter – VP of Outreach / Director of Giver Services
Gretchen is a passionate and energetic addition to the NCF New York Team. She brings with her a devotion to the cause of generosity and a desire to serve with excellence. Gretchen previously served as Vice President of the NCF Houston office where she walked alongside donors who were gifting complex assets such as business interests, real estate and mineral interests. She considers it a privilege to play a part in helping to launch the NE affiliate and share her heart, experience and expertise. Gretchen’s heart for ministry has led her to serve in various places and capacities over the past 20+ years (Royal Family Kids Camp, AWANA, Mission Germany Baseball Camp, Love Burundi Africa Eyeglass Clinic). Gretchen currently lives in Houston, Texas with her husband Brad. They have two adult children, Brody and Maggie, whom they consider their greatest achievement.

Mike Booth, J.D. – Associate Gift Planning Attorney
Mike joined NCF in 2007 and currently helps people develop in their roles as stewards of the assets God entrusted to them. His primary focus is offering insight as to the best way gifts of non-liquid assets such as real estate, business interests, restricted securities, and personal property can be used to fund giving opportunities. Such gifts usually provide a far greater tax deduction than if the giver had sold the asset themselves and then donated the proceeds to charity. Mike graduated from Mercer University in Atlanta with a B.A., and Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law with a J.D. Prior to joining NCF, Mike served as the director of The Great Commission Foundation of Campus Crusade for Christ. Additionally, he has served in other capacities including roles as director and trustee to other non-profits.
